On arrival check in at the hotel and after rest visit Agra Fort, the great monument of red sandstone dominating a bend in the river Yamuna, 2 km northwest of Taj Mahal. The Mughals constructed it during 1565-1571. Emperor Akbar laid the foundation of this majestic citadel in 1565, however Emperor Shahjahan, Akbar’s grandson completed the fort in 1571.

The Taj Mahal of Agra are not only of its magnificent beauty, but also of the great love that inspired its building. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan had this monument built in honour of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, with whom he fell in love at first sight.
Late afternoon drive back to Delhi.
